Graphic Design & Print Media
Prior to University, I developed my base skills through traditional-media artwork, focusing on the human body and realistic proportions. Throughout my bachelor degree however, I focused on my digital art skills utilizing raster and vector-based programs such as Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Illustrator. Since the change of tools and concepts was so drastic, it required an intense attention to detail, an open mind, and a great study ethic to make Illustrator and subsequent programs second nature to me.
While working professionally as a graphic designer, I was able to create stunning experiences for my clients by utilizing my extensive illustration and colour theory knowledge. Graphic design itself is art with a tangible purpose; it takes a creative plan and combines with the logic of business advertising to achieve large results with the smallest of concepts, symbols and text. Turns out, Iām a natural.
Let me take you through my process:
Collaborating with both the client and our sales representative, we would set out a plan that I would follow up on with 2-3 samples. While waiting for feedback, I would reference the client's branding guidelines to help visualize the best path forward. Once the concept is finalized, I inquire into details such as material and location in order to develop plans to maximize longevity, which I pass onto the installation team.
Many of my clients were repeat customers, and I pride myself on my accountability, communication and personality to maintain those relationships for a long time to come.
The following examples are a continuation of the work that I enjoyed working on throughout my tenure/employment with Bannerz Canada.
